The Dialogue Unit convenes contextually specific safe spaces to platform dialogue, mediation, and debate.

The Dialogue Unit is dedicated to creating safe, confidential spaces for frank discussion. On request, we facilitate practical dialogue to generate new insights, identify common interests and overcome obstacles to negotiation and engagement.

By providing logistical and technical support, the Dialogue Unit enables stakeholders—from humanitarians and diplomats to local actors—to navigate the complexities of engagement in conflict areas and politically contested environments.

As a programme of work at the Centre on Armed Groups, we draw on their team and network of experts.

How we work

The Dialogue Unit provides full-spectrum support that enables our partners to convene and engage confidently, even in the most complex and fragmented conflict settings.

Our approach is based on the following principles:

  • Confidentiality & Trust-Building: We create safe spaces where stakeholders can speak openly without fear of repercussions, fostering trust in often volatile environments.

  • Expert Design & Facilitation: Staffed by experts, we bring the right facilitators and management to create the conditions for productive engagement.

  • Action Oriented: Our work is geared toward practical outcomes, to ensure dialogue is productive and actionable.
